Is this curriculum only for Presbyterian or Reformed churches?

While all our curricula and resources are written from a Reformed and covenantal theological perspective, they are not just for Presbyterian or Reformed churches.  Our commitment is to a Christ-centered, gospel-driven teaching of God’s Word and theological truth.    

What denominations are currently using One Story materials?

Presbyterian Church in America, Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Southern Baptist, Independent Baptist, United Methodist, Associate Reformed Presbyterian, Reformed Church in America, and Non-denominational. 

Can churches with different theological traditions use this curriculum, and where might they notice differences?

Since our focus is on teaching all of God’s Word, any theological tradition that is faithful to Scripture can use our curricula.  Passages of Scripture that are more challenging to interpret will demonstrate theological distinction and differences.  Our youth curriculum, with its deeper theological lessons, will also be a place of possible differences 

Is this curriculum appropriate for non-denominational churches?

Even though One Story is a ministry of a Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) church, it is not a denominational curriculum.  Any non-denominational church that desires a curriculum that faithfully teaches God’s Word will benefit from all our resources.  

What age groups does One Story cover?

Our Sunday school curriculum goes from 4 years old to adult.  Our Christian school Bible curriculum is designed for Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Our home curriculum can be used with all school-age children.   

What's the difference between the Sunday school curriculum, VBS, and the K–5th grade school materials?

Since all of our curricula are grounded in the teaching of God’s Word, they all have the same foundation.  So the main difference is format.  Our five-day VBS series alternates between Old and New Testament “cases”.  Our K-5th grade school curriculum adds worldview and apologetics sections.

How many years of curriculum for the church are there? 

Our children’s Sunday school curriculum includes seven years, from Kindergarten through 6th grade.  Our youth Sunday school curriculum includes six years, from seventh through twelfth grade.  Our adult discipleship curriculum has over a dozen quarters available and is growing.

Can a church start mid-cycle?

While it is preferable to start at the beginning of a school year, you can certainly start at any time.  All of our church curricula are divided into quarters, so you can begin at any point. 

How often does curriculum need to be re-purchased? Is anything reusable year to year?

One of the distinctions of our curriculum is that it is all teacher manual-based and is therefore non-consumable.  As long as a teacher takes good care of his or her manual, it can be reused for many years.

Do you sell per-child, per-classroom, or per-church?

For our children and youth curricula, we sell per-classroom.  There are not student worksheets or workbooks, so the cost is the same for any size classroom.

How does the quarterly curriculum work?

Our teacher manuals for children, youth, and adult Sunday school include one quarter of material.  Churches can purchase one or more quarters at a time, or a full year.  

Can a church order a sample before committing to a full purchase?

We have free, downloadable sample lessons of all our curricula available on our website.  These can be viewed online or printed for review before purchase.

Is there a digital or PDF option, or is everything printed?

Our digital (PDF) versions are available for purchase for our international customers.  If you are in the U.S., you may request a free PDF version after purchasing the printed edition.

Is there training available for teachers or directors?

Our Executive Director does a limited amount of training events in churches each year for a fee, upon request.  Virtual training is available as well.

What if a church tries the curriculum and it isn't the right fit?

Once any of our curricula is opened and used, it is non-returnable and non-refundable.

What is required for someone to be able to step in to teach from your Sunday School curriculum?

One of the distinctions of One Story Ministries is that all of our curricula are fully scripted and easy to teach.  Any Christian who has a love for Jesus, teaching, and his or her students can teach our materials.  This also means that substitute teachers can step in for regular teachers very easily!
